Ben Brierley
1630’s Role: Publishing & Master Administration
Ben Brierley is an accomplished singer and multi-instrumentalist of the Soul Motown and Northern Soul Classics. Also known as "Tommy Trouble", "Ben Bryan" and "The Soul Man", Ben is an English bass and guitar player active in the British Punk scene – particularly in the late 1970s. Ben met Marianne Faithfull in 1975, and the pair were married from 1979 to 1986.
Ben played for various Punk bands, including Streak (1972-3), The Vibrators (1978), The Front (1978), Dave Goodman And Friends (1978), Nazis Against Fascism (1979). Ben also co-wrote and contributed Guitar and vocals to a number of Marianne's singles (Brain Drain, Intrigue, Falling From Grace, She's Got A Problem), before disappearing from the scene for a period of time.
Upon Ben's return, he began collaborations with Dexys Midnight Runners frontman Kevin Rowland (specifically contributing to the 2012 album One Day I'm Going to Soar), Tim Hardin, Kevin Rowland, Scott English, Kenny Young and many others. Since 2019 Ben has been writing and playing with his 3 piece acoustic original band The Zeb Project, playing at festivals and venues across the UK
Ben continues to write songs from his home in Manchester England where he lives with his wife Michelle, has been practicing ceramic artistry for 25 years and exhibiting extensively both nationally and internationally.
