On Saturday, January 24th, 2026, the world-famous Black Dyke Band, under the leadership of Prof. Nicholas Childs, will premiere Bruce Broughton’s new work for brass, Wildfire, a piece inspired by the terrifying 2025 Los Angeles fires. The performance will take place at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, England, as part of a weekend festival embracing both innovative new compositions and celebrated legacy works for brass bands.
